The Weekly Report lands once a week: the week's events, fresh court intel from player reports, and the community news no one else collects. Below is the latest issue, exactly as subscribers got it.

🥒 THE WEEKLY REPORT
ISSUE NO. 13 · SENT OCTOBER 25, 2026
THE WEEKLY REPORT · ISSUE № 13 · SUNDAY, OCT 25, 2026
3 community things, 2 register updates, 1 feature. 🥒
3 · AROUND THE COMMUNITY

1. Seven days. Then the guide prints what you told us. Clocks fall back next Sunday and the after-dark guide publishes the same day: the courts worth playing once the sun drops, and the ones to skip. Where the census stands, counting courts a player has verified this October:

FAIRFAX 7 · MONTGOMERY 3 · DC, PR. WILLIAM, PR. GEORGE'S, FREDERICK 1 EACH · ARLINGTON, LOUDOUN, HOWARD, ALEXANDRIA 0

Last call. A no counts as much as a yes, first reporter flags are permanent, and four counties are about to publish empty. Check your court →

2. One reader emailed the county. 27 court records got the answer. Doug asked Montgomery Parks a simple question: when do the lights actually run? The county's answer, now on every lighted Montgomery court record with his name on it: on at sunset, off at 11pm, never before sunrise, that last one thanks to the noise ordinance. Then Doug kept going and wrote the register's first lights manual, at Glen Hills: push the button on the black pole by the basketball-court gate, and look for the white light on the green box to know it's dark enough. No county website tells you that. A player did. The Glen Hills record →

3. You filed 32 reports this week, the register's biggest week yet. Rockville got swept: Dogwood, Welsh, Glen Hills, Stepanek, Seven Locks and Diamond Farms all picked up fresh ratings in four days. The 271st location is Life Time Reston (6 dedicated indoor courts), submitted by a reader ten minutes after subscribing, and Lakewood Country Club got its first report, which flags it fairly as members-and-guests-only before you drive out. Rate where you played →

ALSO: Dill Dinkers North Bethesda's open house moved to Saturday, November 7, noon to 2. Host Roger sent the fix and the board updated within the hour. The event board →

2 · NEW ON THE REGISTER

1. Next Sunday this email gets a second section. The after-dark guide goes live November 1 with everything the census gathered: verified lights, hours, the courts to skip, county by county. If you filed a verification this month, your name (or initials) is in it.

2. Winter is indoor season, and the board knows it. Honcho winter leagues land at Dill Dinkers North Bethesda (Thursdays, from Nov 12) and Dill Dinkers Rockville (Sundays, from Nov 15), and 42 events are live for the weeks ahead. Find your next game →

1 · THE FEATURE: PICKLE-FEST RAISED $7,500 FOR THE GIRLS
Three podium photos from Pickle-Fest at Dill Dinkers North Bethesda: winners of all ages with medals

THE PODIUMS AT PICKLE-FEST, OCT 17. PHOTOS COURTESY OF GIRLS ON THE RUN OF MONTGOMERY COUNTY.

$7,500 for the Girls on the Run of Montgomery County Financial Assistance Fund, raised in one Saturday of pickleball. Pickle-Fest filled Dill Dinkers North Bethesda on October 17 with adult-child King of the Court, a beginner clinic where never-having-held-a-paddle was a valid entry, and round robins by level.

The money means girls from underserved parts of the county join the program, laced into running shoes the fund supplies. GOTR MoCo serves 4,000+ girls a year, more than 1,000 on financial assistance, and this weekend the paddles paid for some of it.

Thanks to Brooke Curtin and Annemarie Agnew of GOTR MoCo and everyone who played. Registration for next year opens when it opens, and the paper will say so when it does. Girls on the Run MoCo is here.
