There is no
pickleball emoji.
The register keeps records, and this one has bothered us for a while. Pickleball is the fastest-growing sport in America. Tens of millions of players. Entire buildings dedicated to it. And none of them can type it. The closest a phone gets is 🥒🏓, which is a cucumber and the wrong sport.
Emoji are not granted by Apple. They are approved by the Unicode Consortium through a formal written proposal, which anyone may submit and almost nobody does. We intend to be the almost.

The case, for the record
Badminton, lacrosse, and curling all have emoji. The curling stone has its own. Pickleball, played by more Americans than any of them, has none.
This register rates courts in pickles and named its mascot Dill. We have workarounds. They are cucumbers. A cucumber is not a pickle.
Every "who's playing tonight" text in America currently ends in 🏓. Table tennis is a fine sport. It is not this one.
SIGNATURES ARE RECORDED WITH THE NAME YOU PROVIDE AND NOTHING ELSE IS SHOWN PUBLICLY. EMAILS ARE USED ONLY TO REPORT THE PROPOSAL'S FILING, UNLESS YOU ALSO ASK FOR THE WEEKLY REPORT. THE REGISTER DOES NOT SELL ANYONE'S DATA, INCLUDING TO CUCUMBER INTERESTS.
