1. The after-dark guide is out. You wrote it. The clocks fell back overnight, sunset lands at 5:05 today, and the first player-verified guide to DMV courts after dark is live, exactly as promised a month ago. Fourteen courts verified, and the first edition goes further: all 64 lighted courts on the register, state by state, with what every parks authority actually publishes about its own lights, from Montgomery's 11pm rule to Fairfax's remote-controlled system. Maryland is Marilyn's beat, Virginia is Vinnie's, and the District belongs to Dill.

2. This guide has bylines. Doug M. did the most of anyone: he emailed Montgomery Parks, got the county's lights policy in writing, put it on 27 court records, and wrote the Glen Hills lights manual besides. B.S. gave Prince William its first entry. Sally C. filed Isreal Park, Anh N. claimed Jefferson Rec in DC, Theo H. and Andy L. put honest nos on the record, Josh B. started the Foxhill repair story, and Pinecrest's club spoke for its own lights. 3. The final 72 hours brought the quiet kind of help. Six fresh court reports landed since Thursday, the register crossed 272 locations, and the week's group threads from Rockville to the District surfaced evening-play intel the census could never have found alone. 1. Indoor season officially opens today. The clocks made the call, and the board holds 62 events to meet it: winter leagues, clinics, open houses, and a national collegiate qualifier, DC to Hagerstown.

On the first day of indoor season, meet the club that thinks about winter all year. Pickleballerz in Chantilly is independently owned, which its team will tell you is the whole point: the freedom to shape a club around its own players instead of a franchise manual. Lesa Wilson, who runs marketing there and has been a friend to this register since the summer, puts the philosophy better than we could:
"We do not view other clubs simply as competitors; we see everyone working to grow pickleball as partners in growing the game. If more people discover and enjoy pickleball, there can be room for multiple facilities and business models to succeed."
