LOCAL KNOWLEDGE — THIS COURT
Went over early on a Sunday morning; 4 dedicated courts and four lined onto tennis courts. A combination of "open play" and pre-arranged groups that camped out on the courts even when people were waiting. Parking a challenge especially if the adjacent pool is open. Nice courts on the dedicated side, the tennis/lined courts need repaving after multiple patches make for some spots that are challenging from a footwork perspective.
Reston Association is considering converting the two shared tennis courts here to pickleball-only, which would make Autumnwood all pickleball (today: 4 dedicated pickleball + 4 lined on the tennis courts). Per FFXnow (Aug 2026): an RA survey found more than 90% of court use at this facility is pickleball, and the $75,000 proposal includes new shade, signage, and a water bottle station. The RA Board of Directors is expected to discuss it in September. Player reports on busyness at this record remain a public running log of actual usage while the decision is pending. RA is gathering resident input: a second in-person session runs Wednesday Aug 26, 5:30-7pm by the courts, and online feedback is open at reston.org/m/newsflash/home/detail/143.
