Fall 2026 DMV Senior Open (50+)

Three-day senior tournament indoors at Montgomery TennisPlex Bubble B: singles Friday, gender doubles Saturday, mixed doubles Sunday. Age brackets 50+, 60+, and 70+. Register before Sept 1 to save $15 on entry; US Senior Pickleball (USSP) members save an additional $10. This is a prerequisite event for the USSP Nationals. Garfield Park Group Open Play (Krughoff Courts)

Structured group open play on Garfield Park's five dedicated Krughoff Courts, weekday mornings 9am to noon and evenings 5 to 8pm. A paid court monitor keeps things running during sessions, Franklin X-40 balls are provided, and courts rotate 4-on-4-off when full. The regulars coordinate in a group chat — ask the court monitor about joining. One of DC's best-run outdoor scenes.

Rockville Pickleball Social Play

City-run social play on Mattie Stepanek's 4 dedicated courts. Players rotate through so everyone gets games — a friendly, supportive way to learn or just get reps. Just show up.

Pickleballerz DUPR Ladder — Men's 3.25 & Below (Fridays)

DUPR ladder league for men rating 3.25 and below, Friday evenings at Pickleballerz in Chantilly. You sign up as an individual, no partner required — which makes this one of the easier ways into league play in NoVA. Minimum 15 players, maximum 20. Mixed Medals Month: 3.00–3.75 Mixed Blind Draw

Part of the Woodbridge Pickleball Club's Mixed Medals Month — three September events, friendly competition, one great community. MiLP Mid-Atlantic Regional Showdown

The Dink Minor League Pickleball (MiLP, powered by DUPR) comes to the DMV: Mid-Atlantic Regional Showdown at Down The Line Sports Center, the region's only official MiLP host. The Lab @TPC — Strategy Clinic (3.75+)

TPC's advanced-player clinic series: each Lab session takes an in-depth focus on two or three aspects of the game — lesson format covering game strategy and team chemistry, led with pro player Danny Pyun. Pickleball For Parkinson's — Charity Tournament

A community pickleball tournament run by Riverside High School DECA students, with proceeds going to the Parkinson Voice Project right here in Loudoun County — speech therapy for people living with Parkinson's. Next Gen Youth Fall Season — 6 Sundays

Six Sundays of youth pickleball: coached practice first, then a rotating-partner round robin so every kid partners with everyone in the group across the season. Green Ball plays 1:00-2:30pm, Yellow Ball 2:30-4:00pm, 8 spots per group, first come first serve. One registration covers all six Sundays; rain makeups built in for Nov 1 or 8. Volo Fall Pickleball Leagues — DC (15 leagues, all neighborhoods)

Volo's full fall pickleball slate: 15 leagues across DC starting the week of Sept 21, seven weeks each. Eight run indoors at Kraken Bryant Street in NOMA (evenings Mon–Thu, mornings Sat–Sun), plus Gallaudet near Union Market and school gyms in Shaw, Adams Morgan, and The Wharf. Pickleball 101 + 102 Beginner Clinic Series

DTL's beginner clinic series in two levels: Pickleball 101 covers the fundamentals (rules, scoring, serves, returns, dinks, volleys, positioning, basic strategy) and 102 builds on them with focused drills, partner play, and beginner-friendly games to bridge into recreational open play. Five time slots weekly: Wednesdays 11:30am-1pm and 5:30-7pm, Thursdays 5:30-7pm, Saturdays 8:30-10am, Sundays 12-1:30pm. Sign up in the DTL app; not sure which level fits? A half-day beginner camp with Coach JD Almond, built for players rating 2.0–2.5 who want structured instruction instead of figuring it out on the court. No DUPR rating needed to attend. Pickleball Matcha Tournament

Open doubles with matcha on the side. Entry includes your tournament pass, three guaranteed games, a ticket for a free matcha from Dear Matcha, and free entrance for spectators. Prizes per team: $400 for 1st, $200 for 2nd, and a pair of Dill Dinkers paddles for 3rd. A portion of every registration fee supports Year Up United, which provides students with free education. Pickleballerz Team League — MLP Style (Sundays, from Sept 27)

An MLP-style team league at Pickleballerz in Chantilly. Teams are four players — two men and two women — and each team plays six matches a night: men's doubles, women's doubles, and four mixed doubles rounds so you partner with each of your teammates. Note the different start: unlike the rest of the Pickleballerz fall leagues, which begin the week of Sept 14, the team league starts Sunday, Sept 27. Dink After Dark — Friday Night League

"Don't be afraid of the dark. Be afraid of the dink." A Friday night round robin league at the FBC Glenarden Community Life Center in Upper Marlboro, run by Brent Thomas. 6pm to 9:30pm. Runs Oct 2 through Dec 11 — but note the gaps: NO sessions on Oct 23, Oct 30, Nov 13 or Nov 27. Register on your own, no partner needed. Partners rotate every round but your points follow you, and every game counts toward the final standings. Worth reading before you sign up: this is a competitive recreational league, not a learn-to-play program. It assumes you already know the rules, scoring and the flow of doubles. Boxes of Basics Charity Classic — Pickleball Tournament

Maryland Open — 5th Annual (PPA World Championship Qualifier)

The 5th Annual Maryland Open, run by the Howard County Pickleball Association — a PPA World Championship qualifier with 229 players already registered. Men's, women's and mixed events, competitive play for all levels, and a new 2.5-and-under division for newer players this year. Friday–Sunday, Oct 9–11 at Owen Brown Tennis & Pickleball Club in Columbia. Lower fees and a generous refund policy per the organizers; HCPA members get discounts at registration.

2nd Annual Wellness Loudoun Pickleball Challenge

Play. Connect. Make an Impact. Two days of outdoor pickleball supporting mental wellness and health programming in Loudoun County. Fri Oct 9 — mixed doubles under the lights. Sat Oct 10 — gender doubles in the sunshine. Rain dates Oct 16–17. Competitive brackets in men's, women's and mixed doubles at 2.5, 3.0, 3.5 and 4.0+. New to the sport or not chasing a medal? The Just for Fun coed doubles round robin is built for beginners. Every player is guaranteed at least four games, round robin into medal rounds. Awards to the top three teams in each competitive bracket, an event T-shirt and swag bag for every player, and a free gift for the first 30 registrants. Competitive divisions report to DUPR; Just for Fun does not. Registration splits under/over 55, with age groups divided once a bracket reaches five teams. Need a partner? MiLP Virginia State Championship

The Dink Minor League Pickleball Virginia State Championship at Down The Line Sports Center in Annandale — the DMV's only official MiLP host. One day, 9am to 10pm. Team format, four players a side. Each match is four 21-point games: women's doubles, men's doubles, then two mixed. Tied 2–2 and it goes to a Dreambreaker — singles, swapping players every four rallies, first to 21 and win by two. Every team is guaranteed at least three matches and six games, with predictable start times instead of an all-day wait. Division winners earn a ticket to MiLP Nationals. Divisions are set by team aggregate DUPR, from DUPR 9 up to DUPR 20, so there is a bracket at most levels. Unrated players can enter — the tournament director verifies an estimated rating. A DUPR+ account is required to register, and your rating locks when you personally pay, not when your captain registers the team. Register on PickleballTournaments.com. MoCo Rec High School Pickleball Tournament

County-run high school pickleball tournament at Ross Boddy Community Center (activity R05348-101) — a rare competitive youth event on the fall calendar. Registration via ActiveMontgomery.org, opened Aug 11.

GOTR Picklefest

Year two of GOTR Pickle-Fest, raising money for Girls on the Run of Montgomery County's Scholarship Fund. GOTR MoCo serves 4,000+ girls a year, with more than 1,000 receiving financial assistance.
